National School Lunch Week at HBCSD!

Posted Date: 10/16/24 (5:57 PM)

From October 14-18, 2024, the Huntington Beach City School District (HBCSD) observes National School Lunch Week, recognizing the essential role that nutritious school meals play in supporting student success in and out of the classroom.

At HBCSD, our Food Services team is committed to providing students with balanced, nutritious meals that meet federal nutrition standards and promote healthy eating habits. Research consistently shows that school lunches offer students the healthiest meals of the day, packed with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and milk while adhering to strict guidelines on calories, fat, and sodium.

“National School Lunch Week gives us a chance to shine a spotlight on the many benefits of our school lunch program,” said Food Services Director Ashlin Connolly. “We’re proud to offer meals that meet federal nutrition standards and energize and prepare our students to learn.”

Thanks to federal funding, HBCSD continues to provide free healthy meals to all students. For more details about our Food Services program, interactive menus, and nutrition information, visit the Food Services website at www.hbcsd.us/foodservices.
