School News


No School Tomorrow (Memorial Day) - Monday, May 26

In observance of Memorial Day, there will be no school on Monday, May 26.

We take this day to honor and remember the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country. We hope you enjoy the long weekend with your families.



You're Invited to Eader's Open House! - Thursday, May 29

Mark your calendars! We’re excited to welcome all families to our Open House on Thursday, May 29 at 6:00 PM.

Come tour classrooms, celebrate student learning, and connect with teachers and staff as we showcase the amazing work happening at Eader.

We can’t wait to see you there!





Final School Assembly - Friday, May 30

Our last school assembly of the year will take place on Friday, May 30!

We’re excited to be joined by the Huntington Beach Lifeguard Department, who will lead a special lesson on how our Eader Eagles can enjoy a safe and fun summer at the beach.

We hope to see you there!



Lunch on the Lawn – May and June Dates

As we did last month, we’ll be hosting Lunch on the Lawn on several days next week as well as in June to help accommodate our Spring Sing rehearsals, performances, and other educational activities.

Lunch on the Lawn Dates:

• Thursday, May 29
• Friday, May 30
• Monday, June 2
• Friday, June 6
• Monday, June 9
• Tuesday, June 10
• Friday, June 13

This was a highlight for many students last month, and they really enjoyed the chance to sit and eat on the grass. If your child would prefer, feel free to send them with a small blanket or towel to sit on.



Spring Sing Reminder – Coming Soon!

As previously communicated, our Spring Sing performances are just around the corner!

Please see the schedule below for performance dates and times. All events will take place in the school cafeteria.

To help the events run smoothly, please note the following:

• Parking will be impacted — plan to arrive with plenty of time to spare.

• All guests must enter through the Eader Office.

• When leaving campus, please ensure that all school gates are closed securely behind you.

• Kindergarten Spring Sing – 9:30 AM

• 2nd Grade Spring Sing – 11:00 AM

Friday, June 13

• 1st Grade Spring Sing – 9:30 AM

• 3rd Grade Spring Sing – 11:00 AM

• 4th Grade Spring Sing – 1:30 PM

Yearbook Distribution – Friday, June 13

Yearbooks will be distributed in classrooms on Friday, June 13.

We’re excited for students to enjoy the memories from a wonderful year at Eader!



Field Day - Monday, June 16

Get ready for one of the most exciting days of the year—Field Day is coming up on Monday, June 16!

Families are welcome to attend and cheer on our students as they enjoy an hour full of fun and friendly competition.

Reminder: Early Dismissal on the Last Day of School – Wednesday, June 18

As a reminder, our last day of school will follow a Planning Day/Early Out schedule:

• Grades K–3 will be dismissed at 1:41 PM

• Grades 4–5 will be dismissed at 1:50 PM

Thank you for making arrangements to ensure a smooth end-of-year dismissal!

Sowers’ Music Program proudly presents its End-of-the-Year Concert Series and you are invited to attend!

Come celebrate a fantastic year of music with three exciting performances:

• Friday, May 30 – MIT/Guitar Popfest at 5:00 PM & 7:30 PM (Dwyer Auditorium)

• Tuesday, June 3 – Choirs Showcase at 5:00 PM & 7:30 PM (Dwyer Auditorium)

• Wednesday, June 4 – Band Concert at 5:30 PM (Sowers Cafeteria)

Huntington Beach Public Library Summer Reading Challenge

The Huntington Beach Public Library’s Summer Reading Challenge is right around the corner! This is a great opportunity for students to stay engaged and motivated to read all summer long.

Parking Lot Safety Reminder

Please help keep our students safe by driving carefully and observing all traffic safety signs and speed limits around our school.

• When leaving the parking lot, only right turns are allowed.

• Do not park or leave your vehicle in any area marked with a red curb.

• For safety, please ensure your child exits and enters your vehicle on the curbside only.

• Please continue to pull forward until you are immediately behind the car in front of you while waiting to pick up your child.
This will help eliminate parents cutting in front of each other and prevent dangerous maneuvers.

• As a safety reminder, please do not park in the center roundabout to exit your car and walk through traffic to pick up your child. This is dangerous and disrupts the flow of traffic.

Thank you for helping keep our drop-off and pick-up areas safe and efficient for everyone! Your cooperation ensures the safety of our Eader community.
