Huntington Beach City School District (HBCSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Rochelle Nguyen as the new Director of Early Childhood Education. With nearly two decades of experience in early learning, including leadership roles in both California State Preschool and fee-based programs, Ms. Nguyen brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to this role.

Ms. Nguyen most recently served as the Director of Preschool Programs for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley, where she led two licensed preschool sites. Her responsibilities included overseeing curriculum development, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and community partnerships, all of which were aligned with high-quality early education practices.

Throughout her career, Ms. Nguyen has demonstrated a commitment to fostering inclusive, developmentally appropriate environments that nurture all areas of a child’s growth. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Child Development from California State University, Fullerton, and a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Pacific Oaks College.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Nguyen to the HBCSD team,” said Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Dr. Cynthia Guerrero. “Her experience and leadership will be instrumental in expanding our early learning programs and ensuring every child receives a strong foundation for lifelong success.”

Ms. Nguyen will begin her role on August 4, 2025 and is excited to build strong relationships with families, staff, and community partners as she leads HBCSD’s early learning programs.
