Birthday Treats at School - Friendly Reminder
As a reminder, and as outlined in the Eader Student Handbook (which is reviewed during annual data confirmation), we kindly ask that families do not send food or treats to school for student birthdays.
While we truly appreciate the thoughtful sentiment behind birthday celebrations, this guideline is in place to:
• Be respectful of students with food allergies or dietary restrictions
• Be respectful and inclusive of students, as well as families who may not think to - or be able send treats
• Help classrooms stay focused on learning and instruction
• Maintain consistency with schoolwide expectations and routines
I have reminded and requested that teachers not allow birthday treats at school, and I would truly appreciate your help in supporting this expectation by not sending them.
When treats arrive, it places teachers in a difficult position - wanting to honor a student’s special day and not disappoint them, while also needing to follow a schoolwide rule. Your support helps us avoid that situation and ensures consistency for all students.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and continued support of our staff and school community.
A Message From Eader's School CounselorDuring the month of December, our classroom lesson will focus on understanding feelings and learning healthy ways to manage them. Students will explore how to recognize emotions in themselves and others, express their feelings appropriately, and use simple strategies to handle big emotions.
Our goals for students include:
• Identifying and naming feelings such as happy, sad, frustrated, worried, excited, or calm
• Building emotional vocabulary so they can communicate their needs
• Learning self-regulation tools, including deep breathing, positive self-talk, and taking a break when needed
• Practicing empathy and understanding that everyone experiences feelings differently
• Knowing when and how to ask for help from trusted adults
Families can help support this lesson by talking openly about feelings with your child when they come up, practicing positive coping strategies together, and encouraging kids to ask for help when needed.
Thank you for your partnership in helping our students grow socially and emotionally. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like ideas to reinforce these skills at home.

CHOC Blanket Drive
This month we’re partnering with Emi’s Comfort for a school-wide blanket drive to support children receiving care at CHOC.
Emi was a former Eader student who spent much of her life bravely battling serious medical challenges. After her passing just days before her 11th birthday, her mother, Elizabeth, began working closely with CHOC to bring comfort and love to children in the hospital.
This is not a contest or a fundraiser - simply an opportunity for families to donate a new blanket if they wish.
Donations can be dropped off at the Eader Office.
Eader Gala - Save the Date
Eader’s Seaside Soirée will be an unforgettable evening of celebration, community, and meaningful support for our school.
This year’s event will be held at the Waterfront Hilton on PCH, where you can look forward to ocean views, dinner, dancing, and plenty of memorable moments.
We hope you’ll join us on Saturday, April 25, 2026. A formal invitation will follow in the new year.

Parking Lot Safety & EfficiencyWith only a single lane entering and exiting our school parking lot, please keep in mind that one car has the ability to severely impact and hold up the entire line. To help keep traffic moving and ensure safety:• Please have your child prepared to leave the vehicle safely and quickly on the curbside (school side).• Stay in your car at all times.• Pull up as far as you can, even past the gate, so the maximum number of cars can unload along the curb.• Do not pull in front of other cars if there is a hold up.• Safety is always our top priority—thank you for your support.Additional reminders:• Please drive carefully and observe all traffic safety signs and speed limits around the school.• When leaving the parking lot, right turns only are permitted.• Do not park or leave your vehicle in any area marked with a red curb.• Children should always enter and exit vehicles from the curbside only.Thank you in advance for your cooperation in keeping our students safe and supporting the smooth flow of traffic in our Eader community.
