Supporting Our Neighbors During Drop-Off and Pick-Up
As a reminder, please help us be good neighbors by following all traffic laws during drop-off and pick-up. This includes not blocking or parking in neighbors’ driveways and being mindful of the residents who live near our school.
Your cooperation helps keep our community safe and respectful for everyone. Thank you for doing your part to support our neighbors and our Eader community.
Counselor Corner - A Message From Eader School Counselor, Mr. Paul Lennon
Hello Families,
During the month of March, our counselor-led classroom lesson will focus on learning and practicing assertive communication skills. Students will explore how to express their thoughts, feelings, and needs in a clear, respectful, and confident way.
Being assertive helps children stand up for themselves, solve conflicts peacefully, and express their feelings and needs with peers and adults.
Our goals for students include:
Understanding the difference between passive, aggressive, and assertive communication
Using respectful words and tone to express their thoughts and feelings
Practicing using “I” statements such as “I feel ___ when ___ because ___.”
Learning how to say “no” respectfully and set healthy boundaries
Building confidence when speaking up for themselves or asking for help
Students will engage in role-plays, discussions, and activities to practice these skills in real-life scenarios they may experience at school.
Families can help support this lesson by encouraging your child to share their thoughts and feelings at home, modeling calm and respectful communication, and practicing “I” statements together during everyday situations.
Thank you for your partnership in helping our students grow socially, emotionally, and confidently. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like ideas to reinforce these skills at home.
Paul Lennon

Reminder: Returning to School After Illness
To help keep our students and staff healthy, please review the following guidelines when deciding if your child is ready to return to school after being ill.
Students may return to school when:
• They have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medication
• Vomiting, nausea, or diarrhea have been absent for 24 hours
• A communicable illness has been treated and the required treatment period has been completed
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our school community healthy.
Lost & Found Reminder - Fridays Before School
If your child is missing a jacket, sweatshirt, lunch container, or water bottle, please take a moment to check our Lost & Found. The Lost & Found will be set out on the curb on Fridays before school, making it easy to quickly look through items at drop-off. Unclaimed items will be donated periodically, so we encourage families to check regularly. Reporting Student AttendanceIf your child will be absent, please remember to notify the school by either calling our attendance line at (714) 962-2451 and leaving a message, or by emailing eaderattendance@hbcsd.usReporting absences promptly helps us keep accurate records, ensure student safety, and maintain clear communication between home and school. Thank you for your support and partnership. Parking Lot Safety & EfficiencyWith only a single lane entering and exiting our school parking lot, please keep in mind that one car has the ability to severely impact and hold up the entire line. To help keep traffic moving and ensure safety: • Please have your child prepared to leave the vehicle safely and quickly on the curbside (school side). • Stay in your car at all times. • Pull up as far as you can, even past the gate, so the maximum number of cars can unload along the curb. • Do not pull in front of other cars if there is a hold up. • Safety is always our top priority—thank you for your support. Additional reminders: • Please drive carefully and observe all traffic safety signs and speed limits around the school. • When leaving the parking lot, right turns only are permitted. • Do not park or leave your vehicle in any area marked with a red curb. • Children should always enter and exit vehicles from the curbside only. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in keeping our students safe and supporting the smooth flow of traffic in our Eader community.
