Eader’s September attendance rate was 97.3%, compared to 98.1% in September last year.
While we saw a slight dip, attendance remains strong, and we appreciate our families’ commitment to making school a priority.
Please help your child arrive on time every day, ready to learn. Our morning instructional block includes some of the most important learning of the day, and arriving late means missing essential instruction.
Thank you for helping our students start each day successfully.
Fine Art Instruction Begins This WeekThis week, fine art joins vocal music, instrumental music, and dance in our arts offerings at Eader as we welcome back Mrs. Sara Walk, owner of Poppy House Art Studio. Mrs. Walk did a tremendous job leading four art lessons for our students last year, and we’re excited to share that this year, students will enjoy six grade-level-specific lessons throughout the year.
Mrs. Walk has some incredible lessons planned. Seeing our students’ creations last year was a highlight of the year for me, and I can’t wait to see what they create next. Be sure to ask your child about their art experience this week - we’re confident they’ll be excited to share what they’ve created.

Introducing Securly Home: A Free Parent Tool for Your Child's School Device
Earlier this week, the District sent a message introducing Securly Home to all families. Securly Home is a free parent app included with the district's internet filter. It connects to your child's HBCSD Google account, so filtering and monitoring apply on any device your child signs in to with their school credentials, not just a district-issued device. You can see your child's recent online activity, set offline schedules, block specific sites, and pause internet access with one tap. You can also opt in to alerts if the system flags signs of bullying or self-harm.
Setup takes under five minutes: download the Securly Home app, log in with the email on file with your child's school, and click the link in your email.
Get started: securly.com/home-parent

Help Shape HBCSD's Next Five Years
Our District is creating a new strategic plan for 2027–2032, and your ideas will help set its direction.
From October 9-19, join the conversation on ThoughtExchange by sharing what makes HBCSD strong, where we can improve, and what our top priorities should be. It's anonymous and available in multiple languages. Every voice from Eader counts!
A Message from Our School Counselor, Mr. Paul Lennon
Hello Families
Throughout October, I will be visiting classrooms to discuss ways students can identify and take a stand against bullying in recognition of National Bullying Prevention Month.
In addition to reviewing the different types of bullying and what they may look like, I will help students explore how to be an upstander when they see unkind actions happening around them. Together, we will highlight the importance of kindness, respect, and including others in our school community.
You can support these conversations at home by talking with your child about being kind to themselves and others, as well as speaking up when they see unkind actions. Please also remind your child that they can always seek help from a trusted adult at school if they feel unsafe or are unsure of what to do.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like additional information about bullying prevention.
Thank you for your continued support.

Parking Lot Safety & Efficiency - Please Thoroughly ReviewWith only a single lane entering and exiting our school parking lot, please keep in mind that one car has the ability to severely impact and hold up the entire line. To help keep traffic moving and ensure safety:
• Please have your child prepared to leave the vehicle safely and quickly on the curbside (school side).
• Stay in your car at all times.
• Pull up as far as you can, even past the gate, so the maximum number of cars can unload along the curb.
• Do not pull in front of other cars if there is a hold up.
• When leaving the parking lot, right turns only are permitted.
• Do not park or leave your vehicle in any area marked with a red curb.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation in keeping our students safe and supporting the smooth flow of traffic in our Eader community.
