Posted Date: 11/01/26 (09:00 AM)

Week of November 2

Good Morning Eader Families,

Please see the information and updates below for the week of November 2:

School News

Eader Elementary Named a 2026 ERP Honor Roll School

We are proud to announce that Eader Elementary has been recognized as a 2026 Educational Results Partnership (ERP) Honor Roll School.

This prestigious recognition celebrates California's highest-performing schools for outstanding academic achievement in English language arts and mathematics, consistent student success, and a commitment to helping all students achieve at high levels.

This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, staff, and families. Congratulations to our entire Eader community on this outstanding achievement.

October Safety Drills and Updates

October was another successful month for school safety at Eader.

• On Thursday, October 15, we participated in California's Great ShakeOut earthquake drill. Our students once again did a tremendous job, evacuating classrooms in under our three-minute goal. We continue to be impressed with how seriously our students approach these important safety drills.

• On Thursday, October 22, we held our school secure drill, which went exceptionally well. A great deal of credit goes to our staff for their preparation, professionalism, and commitment to keeping our students safe.

One highlight of the secure drill was seeing parents who were waiting near the kindergarten classrooms participate alongside our students and staff. As a reminder, whenever a safety drill takes place while families are on campus, we ask that everyone participate, whether it is a fire, earthquake, or secure drill.

Thank you to our students, staff, and families for continuing to make safety a priority at Eader.

October Attendance Update

We are proud to share that Eader's attendance rate for October 2026 was 97.5%, nearly matching last year's impressive rate of 97.7%.

As a reminder, consistent school attendance is directly linked to student academic success and social-emotional well-being.

Every school day provides valuable opportunities for students to learn, build friendships, and grow.

Thank you, Eader families, for your continued commitment to making attendance a priority.

Eader Elementary Fun Run - Why Your Support Matters

As we begin this year's fundraiser, I wanted to take a moment to share why this event is so important to our school community. While students have opportunities to earn various incentives for their fundraising efforts, my hope is that the greatest motivation for our families to participate is understanding the direct impact these funds have on our students and their educational experiences.

Our goal is simple: to provide our teachers, staff, and school programs with the resources and support needed to offer the best possible educational experience for every student.

Our PTA plays an essential role in making this possible, and the Fun Run provides much of the funding that supports these opportunities throughout the school year.

Thanks to the generosity of our families, PTA funds help support:

• Field trips, including admission fees and transportation
• Schoolwide technology, equipment, and essential resources
• On-campus educational experiences and enrichment programs
• Schoolwide assemblies
• Library books, reading materials, and literacy enrichment
• Teacher stipends for classroom supplies
• Cultural arts experiences, performances, and presentations
• Book fairs and family movie nights
• Field Day and playground equipment
• Art programs and supplies
• Student recognition programs
• Campus murals and beautification projects
• Staff appreciation initiatives
• And much more

These contributions benefit students across all grade levels and help provide opportunities and resources that would otherwise not be possible.

Thank you to our PTA for their continued dedication to our school and to our families for their ongoing generosity and support. Every contribution, regardless of the amount, helps make a difference.

Registration is free, and simply registering ensures your child receives this year's new Fun Run T-shirt.

Thank you for your continued generosity and support of our school. Together, we can continue making Eader the very best place for our students to learn, grow, and thrive.

Our Eader Fun Run is one of the highlights of the school year, and families are encouraged to attend and cheer on their children. It is always a fun and memorable event for our students, staff, and families, and we hope you can join us.

Please be sure to review the Fun Run schedule below for your child's class time. We look forward to seeing you there.

Building "Middle School Ready" Habits with Canvas!

This year, we're helping our 5th graders build the independence they'll need for middle school. One of the best ways to support this at home is to set up your Canvas Observer Account.

In middle school, students go from one classroom to six or seven teachers. Canvas is the "digital home" where all those classes, assignments, and grades live. Connecting now gives your student a full year to practice staying organized.

How to connect:

• Ask your student to log in to Canvas, go to Settings, and click Pair with Observer to get a unique code.

• Download the Canvas Parent App (or visit the Canvas website).

• Create your account using that pairing code.

Check out the Canvas Observer [Family] Help Guides (English) or Canvas Observer [Family] Help Guides (Spanish).

We're excited to partner with you this year as we get our students ready for their next big adventure!

Questions? Our IT/Ed Services team is here to help at canvashelp@hbcsd.us.

Parking Lot Safety & Efficiency - Please Thoroughly Review

With only a single lane entering and exiting our school parking lot, please keep in mind that one car has the ability to severely impact and hold up the entire line. To help keep traffic moving and ensure safety:

• Please have your child prepared to leave the vehicle safely and quickly on the curbside (school side).

• Stay in your car at all times.

• Pull up as far as you can, even past the gate, so the maximum number of cars can unload along the curb.

• Do not pull in front of other cars if there is a hold up.

• When leaving the parking lot, right turns only are permitted.

• Do not park or leave your vehicle in any area marked with a red curb.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in keeping our students safe and supporting the smooth flow of traffic in our Eader community.
